Critics Choice Awards 2026 COMPLETE List : ‘Sinners’ Sweeps Film Nods, ‘Adolescence’ Leads TV

The countdown to awards season has officially begun as the Critics Choice Association revealed the complete slate of nominees for the 31st Critics Choice Awards. The star-studded ceremony will be held on January 4, 2026, at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, with comedian and host Chelsea Handler returning to front the show once again.

As confirmed on December 6, the telecast will be carried exclusively on E! and USA Network, available across both linear and digital platforms, ensuring wide accessibility for audiences.

‘Sinners’ Dominates the Film Race With 17 Nods

This year’s film nominations saw Sinners emerge as the biggest contender, securing 17 nominations across key categories including Best Picture, Best Actor, Best Supporting Actress, Best Director and Best Original Screenplay. The tally puts it just shy of the all-time Critics Choice record of 18 nominations achieved by Barbie in 2023.

With a strong range of recognition spread across studio projects from Warner Bros., Netflix, A24, Focus Features and Universal Pictures, the 2026 race is poised to be one of the most competitive in recent years.

    ‘Adolescence’ Leads the Television Line-Up

Among television contenders, Adolescence stood out with six nominations, earning recognition in major limited series categories. Its presence highlights the awards’ continued emphasis on prestige storytelling on the small screen.

Critics Choice Adds Four New Categories for 2026

This edition introduces four additional categories—Best Variety Series, Best Stunt Design, Best Casting and Ensemble, and Best Sound—broadening the scope of creative and technical talent honoured by the association.
