weather Alert: Dense Fog and Cold Wave Disrupt Life Across Uttar Pradesh and Delhi-NCR, Multiple Road Accidents Reported

A thick blanket of fog has severely impacted daily life across Uttar Pradesh and Delhi-NCR, causing low visibility and multiple road accidents. In Uttar Pradesh, incidents were reported in Fatehpur, Amroha, and Amethi. In Fatehpur, around 10 vehicles collided on the Kanpur-Allahabad highway near Malwa, leaving nearly a dozen people injured. Similarly, in Amroha, 18 vehicles collided near Didoli on National Highway 9, injuring 10 people. In Amethi, a DCM mini-truck rear-ended another truck on the Purvanchal Expressway due to dense fog; thankfully, no injuries were reported. Delhi-NCR is also facing extreme cold and fog, affecting road, rail, and air travel. Visibility has dropped to as low as 50–100 meters in several areas including Connaught Place, Noida, and Ghaziabad. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for dense fog in Delhi for the next three hours. Authorities have advised motorists to use headlights and fog lights and urged children, elderly, and pregnant women to avoid going outside unless necessary. Temperatures in Delhi recorded 9°C at 5:30 AM, while the AQI remains in the poor category, worsening the situation for residents. The cold wave combined with dense fog is expected to continue across North India, including Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, and neighboring states, affecting commute and daily life.
