PCB Cancels Pakistan Team Kit Launch Amid T20 World Cup Participation Doubts

In what appears to be a brand new development in Pakistan's T20 World Cup boycott drama, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) have seemingly raised further doubts on their team's participation.

According to a report by ASports.tv, PCB has called off the planned launch of Pakistan’s T20 World Cup 2026 jersey, which had been scheduled to take place following the toss of the second T20I against Australia today, January 31.

The tournament is scheduled to kick off from February 7, 2026, which is less than two weeks away from this point in time. The Pakistani board's decision is expected to arrive by this Monday.

Pakistan's T20 World Cup Row Explained

Bangladesh refused to play the T20 World Cup in India after their fast bowler, Mustafizur Rahman was removed from KKR's IPL 2026 squad.

They demanded their matches be shifted to Sri Lanka, ICC denied, and the tussle eventually led to their replacement with Scotland for the tournament.

Pakistan had supported Bangaldesh's demand, and after their removal, threatened to boycott the T20 World Cup entirely.

PCB chief Mohsin Naqvi explained on social media that he had a meeting with Pakistan's Prime Minister about the matter, and that a final decision would be revealed either on Friday, January 30 (which did not happen), or on the following Monday, which remains to be seen.

Notably, ICC has reportedly warned Pakistan of severe consequences for a potential boycott, which is why they are expected to cave in and participate in the T20 World Cup.

    Pakistan T20 World Cup Schedule

Pakistan is scheduled to play all of its T20 World Cup 2026 matches in Sri Lanka. They had refused to play in India as well, albeit well in advance.

They are placed in the same group as India and will face them on February 15, 2026.

Here's a look at their full schedule:

Pakistan vs Netherlands - February 7

Pakistan vs USA - February 10

India vs Pakistan - February 15

Pakistan vs Namibia - February 18
