    In a major political development, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi may be served a privilege notice in the Lok Sabha over his remarks during the Budget discussion. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju has alleged that Rahul made “baseless allegations” in the House, triggering a potential breach of privilege motion. The government is considering action, saying statements made in Parliament must be backed by facts. The controversy has intensified as Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri also responded to allegations linked to his past interactions with Jeffrey Epstein. Puri clarified that he met Epstein only three to four times as part of official delegations associated with the International Peace Institute (IPI) and during his tenure linked to the UN in New York between 2009 and 2017. Puri stated that his interactions were purely professional and had no connection with the criminal allegations against Epstein, including charges related to sexual exploitation and trafficking. He emphasized that the so-called “Epstein files” and related accusations have nothing to do with him.
