    Markets Closed In Srinagar, Complete Shutdown In Poonch After Khamenei’s Death

    : Shops and business establishments remained closed in Srinagar for the second straight day as restrictions stayed in place in parts of the cityJammu and Kashmir after violent demonstrations linked to the death of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

    Poonch witnessed a total shutdown as residents observed a bandh to mourn the killing of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and to protest against Israel and the United States.

    Security forces, including the police and CRPF, have been put on high alert to handle any untoward incidents and to ensure the maintenance of law and order.

    LG Manoj Sinha Reviews Security in J&K After Protests: 

    Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Tuesday chaired a high-level meeting to assess the security situation in Jammu and Kashmir, officials said. 

    According to an official spokesperson, the Lieutenant Governor held detailed discussions on the current law and order scenario across the Union Territory. The review comes in the backdrop of widespread protests reported from Kashmir and certain areas of the Jammu region following the killing of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, in a joint strike carried out by the United States and Israel. 

    The meeting took place at the Lok Bhavan and was attended by senior security officials, including GoC-in-C Northern Command Lieutenant General Pratik Sharma, Director General of Police Nalin Prabhat, GoC 15 Corps Lieutenant General Prashant Srivastava, and MGGS Northern Command Major General Balbir Singh. 

    During the meeting, the officials discussed the prevailing situation and measures required to maintain peace and ensure public safety across the region.
