    A major political development has emerged as BJP mayoral candidate Ritu Tawde made strong statements after filing her nomination for the Mumbai Mayor post. Tawde stated that “Mumbai’s real colour is saffron” and emphasized that the issue of illegal immigrants, especially Bangladeshis and Rohingyas, is one of the most important concerns. Ritu Tawde, who is set to become BJP’s first woman mayor in Mumbai if elected, said that responsibilities have increased after her name was announced by the Mahayuti alliance. The mayoral election is scheduled for the 11th. She said that Mumbai residents have high expectations and her leadership will focus on fulfilling them. Tawde also said that illegal encroachments on footpaths by alleged infiltrators will be cleared, claiming that original Mumbai residents, senior citizens, and women are facing difficulties due to lack of walking space. Following the announcement of her candidature, political activities have intensified, with reports of meetings at Matoshree.
