Maharashtra Mourns: Ajit Pawar’s Last Rites Begin in Baramati as Crash Probe Intensifies

The political landscape of Maharashtra stands still today as Baramati prepares for the final rites of its beloved leader, Ajit Pawar. Following a tragic aircraft accident on Wednesday morning, the Deputy Chief Minister’s mortal remains were taken to his residence at Katewadi before being moved to the Vidya Pratishthan ground. Thousands of grief-stricken supporters have lined the streets of Baramati, participating in a massive funeral procession to catch a final glimpse of the veteran leader. Union Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP National President Nitin Nabin, and Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis are among the high-profile dignitaries attending the state funeral scheduled for 11:00 AM. On the investigative front, technical teams have successfully recovered the "Black Box" from the charred remains of the Learjet 45 at the Baramati airport. A specialized team from the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) is conducting a forensic analysis to determine if technical failure or poor visibility caused the fatal crash. While the state observes a three-day mourning period, the second day of the Parliament session in Delhi also began with tributes to the 66-year-old leader, acknowledging his decades of administrative service and impact on Maharashtra's cooperative sector.
