    Google Launches Emergency Location Service Feature for Android Smartphones in India

    Google has activated its Emergency Location Service (ELS) in India for compatible Android devices. Uttar Pradesh has become state in the country to operationalise the functionality by integrating it with its 112 emergency number. Android users can send their "precise" location to emergency service providers by calling or texting the number. The feature uses GPS, Wi-Fi, and cellular network data to figure out a user's location.
