Delhi Winter: Biting Cold and Thick Fog Grip North India, Travel Turns Risky

A major weather update from North India as severe cold wave conditions continue to trouble several states. Many cities across Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Haryana, and Madhya Pradesh are experiencing biting cold along with dense fog in several areas. Poor visibility due to thick fog has impacted air, rail, and road transport, making travel difficult for commuters. Cities like Varanasi, Delhi, Gwalior, and Ayodhya remain under the grip of extreme cold. While Delhi witnessed relatively better visibility due to strong winds, temperatures continue to remain very low. The Meteorological Department has attributed the situation to an active western disturbance and warned that cold conditions may persist. Governments have made arrangements at night shelters, roadside facilities, and even zoos to protect people and animals from the harsh winter.
