    ‘Champions!’ PM Modi Congratulates Team India On T20 World Cup Win

    Prime Minister Narendra Modi and several political leaders congratulated the Indian cricket team after its emphatic victory in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup. Taking to social media, PM praised the team for its determination, skill and teamwork throughout the tournament, calling the triumph a moment of immense pride for the nation. Other leaders including President Droupadi Murmu, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and opposition figures also joined in applauding the team’s performance after India defeated New Zealand to lift the trophy.

    In a message shared on X, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said the victory had filled every Indian heart with pride and joy. He commended the players for displaying exceptional grit and teamwork throughout the competition and described the triumph as a moment of celebration for the entire nation.

    The Prime Minister said the team’s determination and discipline had been evident across the tournament, leading to a memorable win that united cricket fans across the country.

    President Murmu Hails Historic Achievement

    President Droupadi Murmu also congratulated the team, describing the victory as a historic achievement for Indian cricket. She said India now holds the proud distinction of being the only country to win the T20 World Cup three times and the only side to lift the trophy in consecutive editions.

    Murmu said the win brought immense joy to the country’s cricket-loving population and highlighted the depth of talent among India’s youth. She praised every player, along with the team management and support staff, for their collective effort and wished the team continued success in the future.

    Leaders Across Parties Join In

    Several other political leaders also celebrated the victory on social media. External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar posted a brief message saying, “Champions once again.”

    Congress leader Rahul Gandhi congratulated the Men in Blue for what he called a magnificent victory, while giving special mention to Sanju Samson and Jasprit Bumrah for their performances during the tournament.

    Union Home Minister Amit Shah said the team’s exceptional display of skill and determination had brought glory and pride to the nation. Meanwhile, Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Priyanka Chaturvedi congratulated the “cricket champions”.

    Congress MP Shashi Tharoor also joined the celebrations, saying the victory was a perfect early birthday gift while praising Thiruvananthapuram’s Sanju Samson for his outstanding performances.

    The congratulatory messages reflected the nationwide excitement surrounding India’s latest cricketing triumph.
