Breaking News: Midnight Violence at JNU After VC Exit March Sparks ABVP-Left Student Clash

Fresh unrest broke out past midnight at Jawaharlal Nehru University in the national capital after a protest march demanding the resignation of the Vice-Chancellor spiraled into violence. The demonstration, led by Left-affiliated student groups, was organized to press for administrative accountability and policy transparency. As the march moved across campus, members of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) allegedly confronted the protesters, triggering heated arguments that quickly escalated. Eyewitnesses reported stone-throwing, use of sticks, and chaotic scuffles near key campus points. Several students sustained injuries during the clash and were rushed to AIIMS Trauma Centre for treatment. Videos circulating online showed tense scenes as groups accused each other of provocation. While Left student bodies alleged targeted aggression, ABVP members claimed the march violated campus norms and turned hostile. Police teams were deployed in large numbers to prevent further escalation and restore order. Authorities are reviewing CCTV footage and gathering statements from those involved. The incident has once again spotlighted political polarization within university campuses and raised concerns about student safety and administrative response.
